Abbey Dempsey is a Nurse Practitioner and Chief Operating Officer of Advanced Surgical Technology (AST), where she has proudly spent the past 10 years growing alongside the practice. To Abbey, AST is much more than a workplace—it is something she is incredibly passionate about and a huge part of who she is. She takes great pride in the growth of AST, the team behind it, and most importantly, the patients and communities they have the privilege of serving.
Education and certifications
Abbey graduated Cum Laude from Southern University Carbondale in 2009 and is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau Honors Society. She achieved her Bachelor of Arts degree at Southern Illinois University in psychology in 2009, her Associate Degree in Nursing from Kaskaskia College in 2012, and her Masters of Science in Nursing from Waldon University in 2015.

As a Nurse Practitioner, Abbey has a passion for helping patients feel confident, energized, and like the best version of themselves. She specializes in hormone optimization and bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, with additional expertise in medical weight management, peptide therapy, wellness, and aesthetic medicine.
Abbey believes that feeling your best starts with looking at the whole person—not simply treating individual symptoms. She takes a personalized approach to care, taking the time to listen to her patients, understand their concerns, and develop treatment plans tailored to their individual goals, symptoms, and lifestyles.
As a BioTE® Certified Provider, Abbey works with both women and men to address concerns such as fatigue, changes in weight and body composition, decreased libido, changes in mood, and other symptoms associated with hormonal imbalance and aging. She loves combining hormone optimization, wellness, weight management, peptides, and aesthetics to help patients improve how they feel from the inside out.
Her goal is simple: to help her patients feel better, look better, and live with greater confidence and vitality.
Outside of AST, Abbey’s greatest joy is her family. She and her husband, Kelly, have a sweet little daughter, Kollyns, and two sons, Armoni and Trenton. When she isn’t caring for patients or working to make AST the best it can be, she loves spending time with her family and making memories together.
After a decade at AST, Abbey remains just as excited about its future as she was when she started. She is incredibly proud to be part of a team dedicated to providing exceptional care and helping patients become the healthiest, happiest, and most confident versions of themselves.
