What can I expect with Juvéderm injections in Mt. Vernon, IL?

Lidocaine contained in Juvéderm products makes treatment more comfortable. We can also apply a topical numbing cream before your injections. The doctor injects Juvéderm directly into the skin using a fine needle to correct facial imperfections, according to your treatment plan.

Different Juvéderm products may be used to treat different areas. For example, while Juvéderm Voluma is designed to add volume and subtle lift to the cheek area, Juvéderm Volbella is more suitable for smoothing vertical lip lines and adding subtle volume to the lips.

Is there any recovery after Juvéderm injections?

There is no downtime with Juvéderm injections. You may return to normal activities after treatment. Avoid strenuous exercise, alcoholic beverages, and extensive exposure to sun or heat during the first 24 hours. You may experience temporary redness, itching, or swelling at injection sites, which may be relieved with ice packs.

FAQ

How long do Juvéderm results last?

Juvéderm hyaluronic acid fillers tend to be long-lasting. How long you can expect your results to last will depend on the Juvéderm filler used.

  • Juvéderm Voluma can last for up to two years.
  • Juvéderm Vollure can last up to 18 months.
  • Juvéderm Volbella can last up to one year.
  • Juvéderm Ultra can last up to one year.

What are the different Juvéderm fillers used for?

In the Juvéderm family of hyaluronic acid injectable fillers, certain products are designed to treat specific areas of the face:

  • Juvéderm Voluma is formulated to add volume beneath the surface of the skin and to lift and contour the cheek area.
  • Juvéderm Voluma is also designed for deep injection to augment the chin and improve the profile.
  • Juvéderm Vollure and Juvéderm XC are used to treat moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, including “smile lines” around the nose and mouth.
  • Juvéderm Volbella and Juvéderm Ultra are both designed to plump up the lips. Juvéderm Volbella is also suited for correcting vertical lines around the mouth.

What is hyaluronic acid?

Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a naturally occurring substance found in the skin. It attracts moisture, helps hydrate, and adds volume to the skin. For decades, hyaluronic acid has been injected into the joints of people with arthritis and used for wound repair and eye surgeries.

Will it be noticeable that I have had Juvéderm injections?

Juvéderm results can be subtle or dramatic, depending on injection techniques and the amount of product used. Be sure to discuss your treatment goals with your doctor. It is possible to start out subtle and become slightly more dramatic with subsequent treatments. We perform Juvéderm injections with artistry and skill, for beautiful, natural-looking results.
