Vascular lesions, including birthmarks and spider veins, can be caused by genetics, a sedentary lifestyle, weight gain, pregnancy, or prolonged standing. At Advanced Surgical Technology, we offer Vasculaze treatments to help resolve and alleviate vascular lesions.

What is Vasculaze?

Vasculaze is an advanced laser treatment that improves a wide variety of vascular concerns by targeting the blood vessel that causes the blemish. This treatment can be used to improve vascular lesions on various areas, including the face. The treatment is precise; the head of the laser is designed to pinpoint the root of the concern, the vein or vein network.

How does vasculaze work?

The Vasculaze lazer targets the pigment in the visible veins, which disables these specific veins. The body reroutes the blood to another healthy vein, and the treated veins eventually die and are absorbed into the body as waste.

In the case of a birthmark. The laser energy is absorbed by the pigment, which breaks it up and destroys it. The body naturally absorbs the pigment particles and flushes them out.

Am I a candidate for Vasculaze?

Vasculaze is an ideal treatment for men and women of any skin type or color who would like to address vascular lesions. Ideal candidates meet the following requirements:

  • Have not recently tanned their skin or had long sun exposure
  • Are not taking or can stop taking any blood thinning medications or supplements

What happens during a Vasculaze treatment?

We will provide safety glasses to protect your eyes. There is typically no need for anesthesia, as the treatment is not painful, although you may feel some minor discomfort. The Vasculaze laser will be applied to the treatment area. You may briefly feel a warming sensation as the vessels absorb the laser pulses.

Depending on the size of the area being treated, your Vasculaze procedure may take anywhere from a few minutes to half an hour.

Aftercare

You can freely return to your usual activities or work after your treatment, there are a few aftercare tips to think with.

  • Apply moisturizer after your treatment
  • Wear sunscreen on the treated areas for 3-4 weeks
  • Avoid aerobic exercise, hot baths, or rubbing the treated area for about a week

Results

To achieve ideal results, we typically recommend three sessions performed every 5-8 weeks, although some lesions may require more.  Small capillaries usually become invisible after only one treatment. For more significant concerns, you will notice gradual improvements after the first treatment, which improve over time as your treatment plan is completed.
